I’ve had the blessing and privilege of working from home for over ten years now, and most of that time, we’ve also homeschooled our kids. While everyone else had to adjust to the new circumstances of attempting to slow down a pandemic, my family and I were in the curious situation of not having anything change much from our normal day to day.

If you have the opportunity to work from home, take it. Especially when your kids are young. You only get 18 years with them, and you don’t even get a huge percentage of that time. Sleeping, work, school, and more will eat into that time. Squeeze out as much as you can.

But when a father is working in the home or in close proximity to the home, it helps elevate the household to its old importance as the core productive unit of society. Everything changes. The kids feel it. The wife feels it. Combine it with homeschooling, and you will be reclaiming something important.

If you have the privilege of working from home, here are some of my tips that lead to a higher quality of life. Number three is the hardest to learn.
